Design/Build – According to the Design/Build Institute of America, uses a single contract to accomplish all design and construction.  That means a single team of designers and builders, working together until the project is completed. 

How the process works:

You will meet with our estimator who is a Certified Lead Carpenter through N.A.R.I. .  Have all of your ideas ready including pictures you may like from magazines, product cards or samples, sketches, a meaning to the room. Whatever you need to get your point across as to what you are looking for. 

The estimator will then come up with an estimate for the project. This is your time to make changes and tweak the project to fit your ideas as well as your budget.  If all is good from pricing to project dates then an agreement is signed. Once an agreement is signed we set up a meeting with our architect to do the preliminary drawings. The plans and details are reviewed and final designs are drawn up.  Then the plans go for permits. Once permits are obtained your job should begin in a reasonable contracted time frame. Then just sit back and watch it happen. Design/Build always allows for changes. Since our company is coordinating everything it is easy to work in a change that could include several different tradesmen. 
Then your job is complete and ready to enjoy!

Design/Build has many advantages:

• You sign one contract with one company instead of lots of different contracts.
• You have one contact who is in charge of everything and manages the entire project for you, leaving you with time to go about your daily life, not play contractor.
• It provides a teaming method of trade contractors who have usually worked together for years and are used to each other, rather than the “low bid” mentality of the traditional design-bid-build method in which the homeowner must secure different tradesmen including the architect to work through the process. In affect communication is lost, timing is off, and quality is reduced.
