People find themselves staying in their current homes in New Jersey because of family, cost of moving or other factors. Many of us here in New Jersey simply love the area we grew up in and want to stay close to our family. Those homeowners like to invest in their current house as opposed to trying to find a house that suits their needs. That is what we did for these homeowners who were worried about aging in place in their large colonial.
No problem for our design-build team. We worked closely with an architect to create a first floor full living area including new master suite and laundry room.
This whole home remodel required both interior and exterior renovations. Quality products were a large factor that went into this remodel. The homeowners saw the value in using exterior products such as James Hardie Cement siding and Marvin windows.
Inside the existing space was very choppy and dark. The homeowners wanted to open the space up to make it bright, inviting, and wheelchair accessible. Using one hardwood throughout the house with no thresholds really helped open up the areas where walls were taken down and the addition was added on. The kitchen was done in a white cabinet finish accented with a chestnut finish kitchen island. There is plenty of water in this kitchen which features a large main sink by Moen, a pot filler and a bar sink located in the oversized kitchen island.
