How To Maximize Your Undersized Bathroom

Your bathroom is one of the most important rooms in the home, and it is important to ensure that the space has all of the amenities you need. However, building the bathroom of your dreams is often a difficult task, particularly when your bathroom is smaller than you would like. However, just because your bathroom is undersized, doesn’t mean you can’t make the most of the situation. Interested in learning more about how to make the most of a small bathroom? Keep reading below for a few tips & tricks to help you get started!

Use Bright Colors

One of the oldest tricks in the book for making a small room feel larger is to use plenty of light colors. While white is a classic bathroom color, you can also elect for other bright colors such as yellow, blue or green. You’ll want to stay away from deeper shades of these colors, as it will make the room feel like a cave!

The Right Lighting Goes A Long Way

Another great tip for making the room feel larger is to install the right kinds of lighting. When you don’t have a lot of space to work with, using the right bulbs & fixtures can help the room feel larger. Rather than using hanging lights, opt for recessed lighting to keep your ceilings high.

Try Doors Instead of Curtains

Another tip for making your bathroom feel larger & more cohesive is to opt away from shower curtains and instead use glass shower doors. While this obviously won’t give you any more space, it is one less barrier to section of pieces of your bathroom, and will make the space feel larger.

Get Inventive With Storage

Lastly, one of the biggest uses of space in any bathroom is the storage space for all of your toiletries. Sometimes less cabinetry is more, and you can find inventive ways to store all of your toiletries in less space-consuming ways. You could decide to add a standing rack for your toilet paper, a medicine cabinet mirror for your toothbrush & mouthwash, and then keep any other toiletries outside of the bathroom. This can help you eliminate the need for a cabinet or two, making the bathroom just a bit more spacious!
