Live In A Small Space?
Here's Three Tips

From the moment we move into a new home – whether it be an apartment, condo, or house – we can start to see space vanish before our very eyes.

Though we can try to hold onto said space as much as possible, anything from furniture, appliances or just general clutter can make your home smaller and smaller over the course of time. Sometimes the issue reaches a level of severity in which it becomes a genuine safety hazard, which is never favorable.

If this applies to you, and you are soldiering through a small living space, fortunately, there are a few tips to help make the most of your home. If that sounds interesting, keep on reading below!

Tip #1: Invest in Practical, Double-Duty Items

When space is limited, it’s best to go for interior items that serve more than one purpose.

Let’s say you need something to divide your living room – why not use a bookshelf? A bookshelf can not only divide the room, but provide storage for all of your books, magazines, and smaller miscellaneous items.

By investing in these multi-purpose materials, you truly get the best of both worlds – aesthetics and practicality.

Tip #2: Declutter, Declutter, Declutter

One of the more obvious tips – but nonetheless one of the most important – decluttering can bring you many benefits beyond just creating more space.

Especially if you live with children or pets, the less clutter scattered around your home the better.

By removing general junk, debris or misplaced items around your home, you will start to see space open up that you didn’t even know you had! Though we admit that this tip may be labor-intensive, it is certainly worth the results.

Tip #3: Up-and-Down, Not Side-By-Side!

A way to create more space? Think vertical, not horizontal.

For example, let’s say you have storage boxes. Instead of placing them in a row – stack them up and down! Use the upward space that you have to your advantage.

By thinking outside the box like this, you can enjoy the benefits of having more space in your home.

If none of these tips seem to solve your issues – you might want to consider a home addition or renovation, like the one our team provides!
